Upload your website files to the public_html folder. This is the root of your website – your home page (for example index.html or index.php) must sit directly inside it.
- Addon domains and subdomains each have their own folder, which you choose when you create them in cPanel (for example
public_html/shop). - Files outside
public_htmlcan't be viewed on the web, so it's a good place for private files such as backups or configuration files.
