Yes. Every AshHost VPS is backed up automatically every night, and we keep your last 20 nightly backups (about three weeks of history).
- Backups run overnight using snapshots, so your server stays online while it's backed up.
- Backups are stored on separate backup storage, not on the server that runs your VPS.
To restore a backup, or take an extra snapshot before a big change, open a support ticket with your server's hostname and the date you'd like to restore from.
We also recommend keeping your own off-site copy of important data (databases, website files) using rsync or by downloading copies over SFTP.
